Ensuring health and social care services meet local need – The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment
The local NHS and Council are responsible for developing a Joint Strategic Needs Assessment which assesses the health and social care needs of the population. On the 19th April 2012, the Islington JSNA team hosted a meeting with Voluntary Action Islington to discuss how we can ensure locally that the information collected by local voluntary organisations can feed in to this process, for a copy of the presentation, please click here. LINks to become Local Healthwatch organisations
One of the changes put forward in the Health and Social Care Act 2012 is that Local Involvement Networks (LINks) will become Local Healthwatch organisations. To find out more see the Healthwatch section of this site.
Strategy for healthcare services in North Central London
North Central London has developed a strategy for primary health care services (doctors, dentists, community-based health care) across Barnet, Enfield, Camden, Haringey and Islington. Their aim is to raise primary care standards and reduce the variation in standards across this area. Mental Health Services at Camden and Islington Foundation Trust
Members may have heard that the Trust is undertaking a staff consultation about possible changes to service delivery. LINk wrote to the Trust to find out more about what was being planned and how patients will be involved. Please click here for a copy of the letter LINk received. New blood testing
Finsbury Health CentreFrom Monday 17th October, there is a new blood testing service at the Finsbury Health Centre. This will be a walk-in service, you can get the forms you need from your GP. Opening times are below:
Monday 8.30-12.00, Tuesday 8.30-5.30, Wednesday 8.30-12.00, Thursday 8.30-5.30, Friday 8.30-12.00
