Aims

The statutory sector and the third sector already work closely together.  The Compact aims to provide a more secure foundation on which to build stronger and more sustainable relationships. 

 The aim is to:

  • Strengthen understanding and relationships between partners by clarifying roles, and setting out shared values and principles.
  • Make clear commitments (undertakings) about how partners will work together to address local priorities. Some commitments are specific to particular partners and some are shared. 
  • Build the capacity of the third sector to enable local people to take part in activities together, to deliver local services and to ensure that the voices of Islington’s diverse communities influence local decision making.
