Community buildings for hire in Islington
If you want to hire space in Islington for a meeting, a social event or a training course there is a wide range of community buildings in all parts of the borough which offer attractive space at very reasonable rates.
As well as community centres and community halls many other community buildings hire out rooms, and many faith buildings such as churches also have space for hire. Many venues have additional facilities and amenities which you can also hire, for example kitchens, outside space and break out rooms. Some venues can cater for events, or will arrange for catering to be provided. In many you can hire equipment, for example projectors and laptops and flipcharts.
Voluntary Action Islington has fully accessible conference, training and meeting rooms for hire at attractive rates in our premises located only a few minutes walk from Kings Cross. We can arrange catering, and provide equipment.
Alternatively, you may have space in your building that you would like to hire out.

Places to look to find out what is available:
The My Community Space website
www.mycommunityspace.org.uk offers a place for community and voluntary sector organisations to find or advertise premises for hire. It provides free listings of rooms for hire for a one-off event through to long-term office space for rent.
If you are looking for premises the website contains a database with pictures of the premises, details of the facilities, information about accessibility and a map showing the location. It enables you to email the person managing the bookings to express an interest in making a booking. You can search the database by postcode, type of premises or other criteria.
If you have premises to hire or to let the website offers a platform where you can advertise your property not only to groups in Islington, but also to organisations throughout London (and, in time, organisations nationally.)
We urge Islington groups to put their property details on this website, and to keep the site up-to-date. If you encounter any difficulties in entering details about your premises you are welcome to contact VAI’s Community Buildings Development Worker, who will try to help resolve these problems. Contact Janet Keighley by email janet.keighley@vai.org.uk or call 020 7832 5825.
