Charity Bike Ride supports Islington’s Volunteers
Staff from the Islington Jurys Inn hopped on their bikes in support of Islington’s Volunteer Centre, raising over £700 in the process.
The event, part of a national charity challenge for Jurys Inn staff, also included volunteers from Voluntary Action Islington.
The money raised helps the Volunteer Centre connect potential volunteers to local community groups – ultimately helping some of the poorest people living in London.
Mike Sherriff Chief Executive of Voluntary Action Islington said “The Volunteer Centre in Islington relies on donations such as the one received from Jury’s Inn to help local community organisations find the volunteers they need. Their support demonstrates the positive impact of corporate social investment for local groups.”
As well as providing this donation Jurys Inn are also supporting the Volunteer of the Year Awards, which recognise the fantastic work done by local people to support Islington’s communities. The awards are held at Voluntary Action Islington on the 6th of November.
